One of my best and longest friends is my brother, Jonathan. He is 7 years younger than me and was also born in the Dominican Republic. In Spanish, his name is Jonatan (pronounced "Honaton") which I conveniently shortened to "Hona". He's been Uncle Hona to my kids their whole life.
This past week I was working for Hona in Seattle. The pay was great- I got to spend time with him and he bought most of my lunches and all of my Starbucks.
Hona is a medical rep for Smith & Nephew. They sell devices for ACL, MCL, Achilles and such surgeries. I went along with him for 2 main reasons:
I was the 2nd person in the car and gave him access to the HOV lane. HOV stands for High Occupancy Vehicle, i.e. carpool lane.
I also drove once in awhile so he could make calls, send texts and answer emails.
It was awesome!

We left the house at 5:30 each morning, so the early hours once again were brutal. Throughout my sabBRADical, this has been a common theme. But every time it has been worth it. Our work days took us as far south as Olympia, the capital of Washington.

There was some relaxing time in all this as well. One day while I waited for Hona during a work meeting, I asked a local if there was anything to visit close by. He pointed me around the corner to the Pike Place Market. So close, it almost bit me.

Sal and I also went boating and paddle boarding with the nephews on the lake they live by.

The last night there, we grilled up some of the king salmon I caught in Alaska.
