Unguided Angler

First full day in Ketchikan. Spent it out on the water. Learned there are two designations for fishermen: those going with a professional charter and the unguided angler. We were the latter, although we by no means knew what we were doing.

Lorna drove the boat while Sally watched for logs and debris.

Luke, Lorna's 15 year old son, took responsibility to care for the unguided anglers. We started by dropping 4 shrimp pots. We will go pull them tomorrow.

We then went another half hour out to pick a fishing spot. About 10 minutes in I had a halibut. I thought we should label that area the "Burk-Hole-der".

Another 30 minutes and we had a cod. Finished off with a rock fish. Sally had the front covered.

Back at the dock, Luke did all the dirty work cleaning the fish.

An eagle waited for us to throw him the leftovers.
