Cancún

It's been awhile, I know. I struggle with updating you about painting, mowing, reading and relaxing. But it is all refreshing.
On Sunday our family left for Cancún. And by "family" I mean all 18 of us - brothers, sisters, spouses, kids. Dad took us all. I've been to Mexico before, but not to an all-inclusive. It was great.
Here are some highlights:

Cass and Spencer got a break from moving to Iowa. When they got home, Spencer began his new job as youth pastor.

Dad made it possible for everyone to be there. Tiffany and her family flew in from Omaha; Jonathan and his family from Seattle; Candice and her family from Phoenix; Cass and Spencer from Des Moines; and dad and us from Wichita.

Each night we gathered in dad's room for an hour or so. Dad would share with us reasons for us gathering and gave each of us 4 kids the opportunity to share what God has been doing in our lives.

Thirteen of us went snorkeling. The reef is the 2nd largest in the world and extends down to South America.

Carson with two of his cousins.

We went for lunch at a pool-side restaurant but forgot to tell my brother-in-law.

The four youngest went to the kid's area each day. Here's my nephew making pizza.

Dinner time was a special time. Most evenings we all ate together. This picture is at the Italian restaurant with just my family. It typically took 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Most of the day was spent at the pools.

We had a cabana we shared one day.
