All the Work

Here's a recap of the of the sabBRADical "work" I've been up to:

* Had to work to find a church on Sunday. We went out of town. I've read in our local paper a lot lately about shopping local since our grocery store closed due to Hesstonians not using it. Staying local, whether to shop or worship, can be costly. People know your business, relationships are hard and local can't always offer the perks from the big city. The same is true for parishioners AND pastors. But I believe the local church is the best way to love and disciple the local community. In Hesston to reach Hesston- every disciple a missionary.

* Was able a part of the Memorial Day celebration here in Hesston. The city had the "grand opening" of the softball field, baseball field and pool. Sal was asked to be on the USD 460 local celebrity team. She and Jenna Fanshier (fellow teacher) needed a third member. I gladly volunteered.

We didn't win any of the events but had a great time. In the evening, Sal, Carson and I went to the fireworks.

Found this cutout stand on the way home, so got a cheesy picture. Bonus!!

* Last few days have involved painting. Put up some basement paper on concrete walls that needed paint. Went around our kitchen and touched up the cabinets. Also finally got started on matching our garage to the house. This morning was beautiful but the humidity this afternoon sent me indoors. We've got tomorrow!
