Long day on Saturday. Started at 3 A.M. with a 45 minute taxi ride to the airport. I had no bags to check, so I probably could have slept an extra half hour. Was at the gate by 4 A.M. for my 6 A.M. flight.
There was a 2 hour layover scheduled for Miami that turned into 5 hours when we had to deplane for a tire replacement. This resulted in missing my Dallas to Wichita flight. Was supposed to be home at 3:45 but instead it was 8:15. So good to see Sal at the airport and Carson this morning.
Not as many pictures today, but I will take a moment to mention the things I value from the trip:

* HEALTH - I did not get sick at all. I believe this was for a number of reasons: #1- My cardio kickboxing instructor (Candace Jost) has challenged me for the last 3 years to increase my water intake. I am slowly but surely learning. #2- I ate rice and beans almost everyday. I have no idea if this really helped, but it was delicious. #3- I thank God for watching over me.
* FELLOWSHIP - Too often I believe we define "fellowship" as hanging out or friendship. Fellowship includes that, but is so much more. It is also accountability, transparency, humility and repentance. I experienced fellowship with the Dominican Solid Rock staff, the Southern Utah University medical team and the Solid Rock missionaries.

TRUTH - We need truth. People want truth. Truth in relationships; truth in medical treatment; truth in parenting; truth in renewal. Jesus came to perfectly display "grace & truth" (John 1:17).
THANK YOU - Thank you to Hesston MB Church for this time of sabBRADical. Thank you to Solid Rock International for trusting me to invest in the ministry taking place in the Dominican Republic. And thank you to my son for mowing the yard and my wife for supporting my love for the people and ministry of the DR.
