Good News. Bad News.

Which do you like to hear first?  Good news or bad news?  We're starting with the good news.

Shortly after Easter, Cassidy posted that our dog had died.  She had...kinda.  Cassidy wasn't going to see her again because Cadie's health was failing.  The good news is, we did not have to put Cadie down right away, so we have enjoyed the last month with her.

Monday morning, still protecting the backyard from squirrels.

Bad news- today was the day.  We have waffled for some time over whether we were annoyed and impatient with her physical needs and problems.  Thankfully, the vet affirmed that her respiratory and heart problems were causing significant stress.  I had told myself I would not cry for an animal.  I wept.  We had gotten Cadie for Cassidy when Cass was 10.  Cadie was with us for 13 years.  Didn't have a day like today planned for my sabBRADical, but I'm glad I was there with her at the end, even if it was difficult.

Tuesday at 5 AM my plane leaves for the DR.  I gotta go to bed.
